During an 8-week paid summer internship, students will be partnered with a business assignment leader who will not only instruct them on projects, processes and technology, but who will also mentor them on how to work, interact and be successful in a professional environment. Within the Virginia area, we are able to create collaborative relationships to meet the educational needs of the students and help build ongoing professional partnerships with our local businesses and our future leading technologists.
Program History
The Virginia Technology Internship Program successfully completed its pilot during the summer of 2006. Approximately 30 participants were placed in Richmond-area businesses and successfully completed the summer internship. First year participating companies included Cap Tech, Northrop Grumman, Computer Resource, Sycom, Media General, EMC, Science Museum of Virginia, Genworth Financial, Dominion Resources and Ukrops.
